Tempest Plays The Walking Dead Season One: Episode Four

The plot thickens.

Episode 4

Did you kill the boy in the attic? You and 74% of players killed him.

That was just a little bit heartbreaking, and Kenny just made it worse because of his reaction to the kid. I know the kid was already dead and is totally unaware of the world around him, but you can't help but feel like zombies have to be miserable and you have to put them out of their misery, especially a kid. I know there are tons of other ways to look at this in context of a decision standpoint and how you play Lee.

Did you lie to or threaten Vernon? You and 66% of players were rational and honest.

Maybe if Vernon had been more threatening toward Lee, I would've had him be more threatening back. As it was, Vernon was just a scared old man and not really that threatening, even with the gun in his hand. He was just trying to protect his group. There was nothing malicious in what he did when he encountered Lee. So, I didn't really feel there was a need to lie or threaten Vernon and his group.

Did you bring Clementine with you to Crawford? You and 73% of players brought her.

I figured she'd be safer with Lee and the group rather than alone in the strange house with Omid. Omid couldn't go anywhere in the state he was in, and Clem's a kid. Kids get into things when no one's looking. Not that she couldn't when she was with Lee, but she's less likely to do that with adults all around her. Also, good decision because I didn't have to try to shoot at the walker that Molly was struggling with because Clem shot it. That looked like it could've gone very wrong.

Did you let Ben fall to his death? You and 33% of players let him go.

I always seem to make one really terrible decision in each episode. This was my terrible decision. I'd already had Lee put Ben on notice, and I was just a wee bit upset with Ben being upset with Lee because I had Lee be straightforward and say that he didn't trust Ben to have his back. It was true. Ain't nobody got time to be pacifying his feelings like that when it comes to a life and death situation. I gave Ben many passes, but nah bro, you stay at the house. I understand Ben is a kid, which is all the more reason for him to stay in the house. So, anyway, I let him go in the school. I really shouldn't have, but I did.

Did you reveal your bite to the group? You and 80% of players showed the bite.

I had Lee reveal his bite because I wanted him to be able to get to the heart of the matter--Clementine. Allow me to explain. If he didn't tell them, he'd have to parade around like nothing was wrong when he was dying, which means that was less time for him to tell the group what he wanted them to do for Clementine once he was gone. I'll admit that I teared up a little bit here and was like: "No, not Lee. Anybody, but Lee. Well... not Clem, but anybody else!" I was heartbroken, and his reaction when he realized he was bitten and he wouldn't be able to take care of Clem much longer, yeah, that wrecked my feelings a bit.

Episode 4-2

Everybody came, except Ben because... well... you know.... Christa did say that she didn't know if they would've come if I hadn't been upfront with them (and because they cared about Clem). I can't believe Kenny, though. I spent a majority of this game agreeing with him, but the Larry incident seems to wipe everything null. He said the only reason he was coming is because I always looked out with his family, but I didn't always have his back. Kenny, you said what to Lee, now?

This blog is a mishmash of thoughts, pictures, and rantings among other things about games I've played, games I will play, and games I am currently playing. From time to time, I may post book reviews that I've written that are about different games and/or game worlds. Feel free to recommend games or add me on the platforms I've listed. I don't do competitive multiplayer much anymore, but I'm always down for some co-op these days. I'm usually DigitalTempest everywhere unless otherwise specified.
